Fitting Backed by Science
Using thermographic technology, courtesy of Debra Parker, ESMT, we evaluated the balance of horse and rider before and after saddle flocking adjustment performed by Tasida Kiley. The red and white areas indicate higher temperatures caused by pressure, contact, or friction.
Note that prior to adjustment the rider was loading the right knee block and the seat was uneven in heat distribution. On the underside of the saddle panels, the left front panel was hottest with a bridging patten along the right panel.
Post adjustment, there is even heat distribution along the seat, with no hot spots on the knee blocks (ideal), and completely even heat/contact distribution along the saddle panels.
